I love music. My entire family loves music. Our taste in music may differ some, but music is a personal expression of who we are and our personalities. I know my taste in music often changes with my mood.
I listen to a lot of music during the holidays. I have ever since I was a child, of course my favorite songs are no longer performed by a group of singing chipmunks these days. There is just something about holiday music that brings a smile to my face and warms the heart.
Now I must admit I start listening to Christmas music as soon as the local stations start playing it, which around here is Thanksgiving Day. When the family is together decorating our tree and baking Christmas cookies we always have Christmas music playing. The first thing I do Christmas morning before we start opening gifts is turn on the music and grab a cup of coffee. I prefer more upbeat tempo to those that are a bit slow. I like a little rhythm, something that is going to make me bob my head or tap my feet to the music.
I added a new CD to my music collection this year, A Christmas Fantasy by Raul Rendon. It is a great collection of Christmas music. The album includes songs such as Christmas Time is Here, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Feliz Navidad. Raul Rendon is a very talented Saxophonist. He brings a new jazzy twist to classics we love. The instruments and upbeat tempo in this album leave you smiling. Mr Rendon believes the "Saxophone and Christmas go together like Christmas trees and presents". I must say, I like the way he thinks... and I like the way he sounds too.
